The marriage of what I believe is a 90s basswood Fernandes body and a 90s Japan made Bacchus BJB-98 Glay Jiro neck.
The neck is maple on maple from the previously popular late 90s Glay Jiro signature model that used to retail at about 1000usd back then.
It is a very sturdy well made neck with plenty of fret life and a healthy truss, it feels slim and fast thanks to it's slim C grip and 38mm nut.
The body is basswood I believe, from a Fernandes JB or maybe an Aria, most likely Korean in origin given the era. It was a bit battered and scuffed up so I gave it a quick refresh in metallic teal green.
I coated it three times with car clear coat then buffed it to a satin sheen which is smooth to the touch and super comfy. I reopened some of the original wounds and dings to give it that light wear look.
The pickguard is a recycled one with Karin veneer, again with buffed clear coat.
The pickups are ceramic bar type which I veneered with flame maple stained to match the fretboard color. The countersink for the bridge is also lined with matching materials.
The tuners are the original tuners from the Glay Jiro model, Gotoh FB3s and are on great working order.
The bridge is a copy of the Gotoh 201B, nickel plated with steel saddles. It operates well and has sufficient mass to help with sustain and balance.
The circuit is passive with added series parallel switching on the front volume for extra boost. It sounds great, the pickups sound good, clean, punchy and are similar in output to standard Fender issue jazz pickups.
