These mid market builds are made with locally sourced Indonesian materials to keep costs affordable, but employ build spec such as thermo wood (double roasted) maple necks for added stability.
The wood work is done in Indonesia by highly skilled craftsmen and the basses are finished assembled and set up in Japan at the Aska plant. This ensures excellent playability and thorough quality control.
The fretwork is excellent and playability is comparable to higher grade Japan made models.
Finish is simple, in this case an oil coat, but effective - being comfortable to the touch and aesthetically pleasing with a natural open pore look.
Pickups are Bacchus OEM ceramic type, and sound great. A little more aggressive than alnico.
The hardware is simple but functional with die cast nickel plated bridge, and cut and pressed nickel Music Man style tuning pegs.
