This time instead of his usual active Jazz bass format, he's gone for a beautiful passive PJ in classic tone-woods, and it is fantastic!
The pickups are the U.S.A Kuwabara PJ-5 overwound alnico 5 with give a rich, fat, even response. The tone pot is wide and offers lovely low fuggy pulsating bass when rolled off and lovely crispy punch when engaged.
Rather than the traditional vol, vol, tone control set, Sutoh San opts for vol, bal, tone for practicality since he likes to switch between front and rear often.
The bass is a moderate weight for good balance and fundamentals. Of course, as with all Moon, the playability is liquid and the fit, fretwork and finish is perfection!
