A beautiful old 1975 PB420 came to me with no pickups or pickguard and with a partially sanded body which had some cracking top coat too.
I had a lovely PJ set of Bartolini pups so I routed the rear pup cavity.
I decided to do my usual exotic wood customized pickguard, fully keyed the body with 300 grit to take a coat of primer, followed by leaf green metallic and a finally 3 passes of matte clear coat for added durability.
I highlighted some of the original scars as usual, to create a light relic look.
The circuit is passive but features series parallel switching for the front pup, and a "warm and woolly" switch for the rear pup.
It sets up and plays well at 1.5mm and sounds pretty unique, with an evil quack on the rear pup as it's intentionally placed close to the bridge.
