From my new line of high grade recycle basses, in collaboration with Sims Pickups!
This model is all new except for the body which is a revamped fender Japan Precision body in Alder and the Bad-Ass bridge which is in mint condition.
The neck is a high end factory outlet opb type from T's Guitars (value of 70000jpy if not for a small defect).
The pickups are a set of Seymour Duncan split coils (new) and a brand new Sims Super quad rear pickup up which switches into split coils Precision, humbuckers, or jazz (rear coil).
The traditional placement of the p pick up gives you a genuine p bass tone, and when blended with the Super Quad you can get ultra modern crispy punchy tones, especially in PJ mode! Excellent for slap bass
The front pickup up switches series or parallel allowing for a thinner brighter sound in the latter mode or a nice fat and aggressive Precision tone in the former, while the rest Sims Super Quad switches into three different pickup formats allowing for 8 tone combos balances , plus 2 on the front and 3 on the rear for a total of 13 sounds!
The pickups are capped in beautiful flame maple veneers to tie in with the natural maple fretboard.
The finish on this is in iridescent pink/gold so it changes subtly in the light. It has been purposely left in the rain to catch natural drop dispersions on the body and head stock paint work, then subtly inked to accent the natural patterns the rain drops made. This was done in April 2024 hence the model name being "April Rain" shigatsu ame 四月雨
The process involved hours of coating to preserve the pattern and then buffing out the gloss to a fine satin by hand. The result is very comfortable to the touch and feels very smooth and has a subtle sheen.
The bass plays very smoothly with a 1mm action if desired.
