STR is a renowned high end maker in Japan, sometimes dubbed as the Fodera of Japan. STR is an abbreviation of all the syllables in the maker's first name Satoru (Yatsuzuka). This is one of his earlier builds, dated to about 2009, prior to STR establishing their own branded bridge design, so it has a high end Gotoh 404bo5 brass plated high mass bridge (same as what Sugi and dragonfly now use).
This specimen features the highest grade timbers, a stunning flamed claro walnut top on a gorgeous swamp ash back with a striking burning rosewood fretboard atop a three piece quarter sawn neck.
The fit is incredibly tight making resonance and sustain optimal. The finish is a light lacquer that allows protection of woods and finish without dulling the tonal character.
