From my new line of high grade recycle basses, in collaboration with Sims Pickups!
The pickups are capped in beautiful flame maple veneers to tie in with the natural maple fretboard.
The finish on this is in multilayered transparent autumnal colours on a base of gold using prints and stencils of real leaves from plant and tree species native to Japan.
The process involved hours of coating to preserve the pattern and then buffing out the gloss to a fine satin by hand. The result is very comfortable to the touch and feels very smooth and has a subtle sheen.
The bass plays very smoothly with a 1mm action if desired.
