An absolutely insanely good shortscale Tele bass, most likely order made by ESP custom house.
This, I found at a junk shop in playable condition, but with a somewhat butchered headstock and weird tuning peg arrangement!
I bought it in to tart up and correct so that it looks cool and functions well.
I decided on a distressed transparent purple and left the small dings and anomalies to show through on the body wings, and veneered the back and front of the headstock to hide the various badly drilled holes, put the peg holes back to original order, and also veneered the pickups to match the fretboard.
I expanded the versatility of the circuit by installing a series parallel switch that boosts the output in balanced mode.
The pickups sound great, and are high quality, high output alnico hand wound.... Most likely ESP parts.
The action on this thing is insane, among the best I've ever experienced on a shortscale.
The quality of materials and build is top notch, with a quarter-sawn maple through neck, a Madagascar rose wood fretboard, and solid alder wings.
It was obviously order made by professionals and likely cost over 200000jpy given the quality. Again, it's highly likely made by ESP given the original bridge was an ESP one.
