This is a revived EX (made by ESP Japan) that I picked up because I hate seeing good instruments going to waste.
It was originally sunburst, but the jack area of the body had been badly shattered (probably after disciplining an overly egotistical guitarist), and glued back together, so I picked it up to revive, knowing the neck was likely in fine shape, which indeed, it is.
I reglued and sanded the messy job as best I could, (carefully removing bone fragments and what little gray matter there was), filled in any large gaps, sanded, and primed, and finished in a half matte metallic blue carbon paint, which is a beautiful shade and very comfy to the touch compared to heavy gloss poly coatings.
The nut was also missing, so I fashioned an aluminum one for it that sort of ties in with the chrome hardware especially after polishing it up a bit.
The body still bears some small scars but overall looks very tidy now (no doubt tidier than that guitarists head anyway), and plays and sounds just great.
