Currently only available for smaller size pickups guards like the one shown, due to scarcity / limited stock of materials.
These are made with a layer of clear acrylic and a layer of Tokyo tortoise shell ply (imitation) , then finished with thick, hand poured polymer epoxy coating. This gives the pickguard a durable and flexible finish that is highly glossy and provides nicely rounded edges.
The process is laborious hence the price being as high as an exotic wood pick guard.
