A fiesty little rescue-bass in this beautiful satin metallic bottle-green.
The neck is from a trashed Yamaha SA70, and despite having a tiny bit of a swell toward the top of the fretboard, now operates perfectly since fret levelling and dressing has been done, the pickups are also from the same SA70 and polished up nicely.
I fitted the neck on an early 90s Basswood, Aria Integra body, as it was a better match for the neck than the other bodies I had. It needed resizing, cutting and rerouting a bit as photographed. Although it's not perfectly done, it's pretty tidy and works very well. I created a black skirt in hinoki, for the pickups to cover the routs and give the pickup lugs anchoring to operate height adjustment.
The controls are dual stacked pots for individual volume and tone, plus an original Aria Pro II three-way toggle switch for pickup selection.
The tone is of course like the SA70 but with a bit more focus as the body is solid, with a bit more tonal scope given the ability to mix your pickup volumes and tones to your taste, and a bit more sustain given the high mass bridge.
